Summer
Schools
ISCV aims to
introduce scholars to the sciences of complexity. Although the
Institute does not offer degrees, it
has an active set of educational programs. These include fellowship
programs, long-and short-term interdisciplinary research opportunities
for graduate and undergraduate students and summer schools. The
ISCV sets out to complement the scientific education of other institutions,
and thus to assure the development of the complex sciences in our
society. However, we do not grant degrees. |
The Complex Systems
Institute -ISCV- was born, as a shared initiative of researchers
who organized the
first Summer Schools on Complex
Systems in 2003 and 2004 in Valparaíso, which generated great
interest, attendance, enthusiasm and surprising success. This brought
about the creation of an Institute to canalize investigation in areas
of complexity.
The goal of the summer schools is to provide graduate students, postdoctoral
fellows, and active research scientists with an introduction to the
study of complex behaviour.
